On the heels of their latest Thailand property, the tireless COMO Hotels and Resorts has unveiled the newest edition to their Uma by COMO, Ubud (Jalan Raya Sanggingan; 62-361/972-448; from US$270) retreat.

Australian-born chef Nicolas Lazzaroni will preside over the kitchen, who draws on experience from Rockpool in Sydney and Bridges, Bali. The locally-sourced menu includes Italian favorites from handmade pastas to wood-fired pizzas, and more experimental dishes including grilled sardines with sweet and hot peppers, garganelli with fresh yellow fin tuna and rosemary ragu, and wood roasted suckling pig with fennel confit.

In addition to the new dining facility, Uma has also introduced seventeen new rooms designed by Maximilian Jencquel in the spirit of the property’s contemporary Balinese aesthetic.
